ተኪ l  Teki

We are ተኪ Teki, the world's first paper bag company led by the deaf. We fight against the pollution of plastic bags with Ethiopian sign language. Our dream is to convince the Ethiopian government to reserve the paper bag industry to create jobs for young people with disabilities.

Life is difficult for young people with disabilities in Ethiopia, and job opportunities are few. This lack of adapted work leads to social exclusion and shame. At Teki, we create lasting change in the lives of young deaf women with meaningful work and social interactions while fighting against plastic pollution.
